Another Great Story about the Cesar Millan Visit

Meeting Cesar Millan and seeing his LIVE show was such an amazing opportunity for those of us in the dog world. I just had to tell one more story about one of our dogs who Cesar demonstrated with on stage that night.

Scout, a yellow lab and one of our frequent Campers, was chosen to be at the show because of how hyperactive he is. His guardian, Lisa, weighs a mere 92 lbs. and Scout is a very strong 95 pounds! He literally drags Lisa everywhere they go and she is just unable to control him due to his strength. And it’s a whole other story when he comes to Camp Bow Wow. He truly loses his mind and CAN NOT wait to get in the door. Lisa actually has to let the leash go as they come through the door or she is goin’ DOWN.

Lisa told Cesar of her troubles with Scout on stage that night. Cesar showed her a different position for her leash to help control him a little better. With just the change in the position of his leash and collar, Cesar was able to walk Scout calmly across the stage using his dog Junior as a distraction. He then had Lisa do the exact same thing. Immediately Lisa was able to control Scout and after just a couple of minutes, she was walking him across the stage with NO leash. It was so amazing to see her do this after constant struggles with trying to control Scout, it made me cry right there.

Lisa is an avid watcher of Cesar’s show “The Dog Whisperer” and was more than thrilled to meet Cesar and then be selected to be at the show that night. She says, “It was so amazing to meet him. I am FIRED up! I’m extremely excited about what I learned. Seeing what Scout can do, I now have the desire to try harder. I am more determined than ever to be more consistent in my discipline with him.” She absolutely loved the show.

I still think it’s amazing that Cesar came and “touched” some of our local dogs. Everyone who participated was so grateful for the opportunity to meet him and they all feel like they now have more confidence in training their dogs. How cool is that?

Have a Dog Gone Great Day!
